ARCOT N VASUDEVA RAJU, a renowned yoga champion, a jewellery craftsman by profession pursued yoga at a young age, inspired by reading one of the books written by B K S Iyengar, who was also his guiding light.
At the age of 20, he met Sri Janaki Ram who introduced him to Githananda, with whom he completed 3 months course at ‘ANANDA ASHRAM’ Pondichery, India. In short period of time he met Ganjam S Bhimaji, god father of his yoga life, who introduced him to M S Vishwanath, where he learnt new techniques in yoga like ‘VINYASA’ and was also the disciple of Pattabhi Jois, Mysore, India.
He has participated in many competitions and won many awards including Gold medal in the National Championship held at Varnasi, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1978 and 1979 he won Gold medal in the International Yogasana Championship, which was held at ‘ANANDA ASHRAM’ Pondichery, India. He also worked at National Yoga Center, New Delhi which was instituted by Dhirendhra Brahmachari.
Now at the age of 66, he is practicing and inspiring people to learn yoga and reap the benefits of it.
